The KUGR Sports Committee is a great place for young, aspiring sports broadcasters at WSU looking to become better play-by-play announcers, writers, and board operators. During the Fall 2016 semester, KUGR aired 25+ live soccer, football, basketball, and volleyball broadcasts, which included a broadcast of the 2016 Holiday Bowl from San Diego! This semester, KUGR broadcasters are working with former sports broadcaster Mike Wagenheim on an individual basis to improve their play-by-play. Also, the KUGR Sports blog is a tool for young writers to hone their skills as a storyteller and provide insight into Cougar athletics to their fellow students. In March, KUGR will send broadcast teams to both the Women’s and Men’s Pac-12 Tournament to broadcast live from those sites!
